Costs guide

How China buying agent fees work

A China buying agent fee is the service charge for domestic purchase, receiving, and coordination. It is usually shown as a separate line in the quote rather than hidden in one all-in number, and the final total may still change if the item, seller price, weight, packaging, or available shipping route changes.

01

Typical cost components

  • Product cost
  • China domestic delivery
  • Buying service fee
  • Packaging and handling where applicable
  • Optional inspection or special handling
  • Estimated international shipping
  • Payment or carrier charges where applicable
02

Why one total is not always final

Seller prices, promotions, stock, exchange rates, parcel measurements, and carrier availability can all move between the first estimate and dispatch. A useful quote shows which parts are fixed at approval and which parts are finalized later.

03

Questions to ask before you pay

  • Which charges are included in the first quote
  • Which charges are estimates and when they become final
  • Whether the product is approved before the domestic order is placed
  • What happens if the item is out of stock or the seller changes price
  • Who is responsible for destination customs charges
04

What a fee does and does not include

The buying service fee covers the domestic purchase and coordination work. It does not automatically include import duties, taxes, brokerage, destination handling, or a guaranteed final shipping price before the parcel is measured and routed.

05

How to compare quotes

Compare complete breakdowns, not just one headline number. Two quotes may include different product versions, inspection levels, shipping methods, and assumptions about who pays destination charges.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Is the initial quote free?

Yes. Requesting and reviewing a quote does not obligate you to purchase.

Is the buying agent fee a fixed percentage?

We describe the service fee as a specific line for your request. We do not publish a universal percentage because each request involves different products, sellers, and handling needs.

When is international shipping finalized?

After the parcel arrives in China and its final weight, dimensions, packaging, and available route are confirmed.

Are import duties included in the buying agent fee?

No. Import duties, taxes, and any destination-side carrier charges are separate and determined by the destination authorities or carrier.
