Consolidation guide

How package consolidation works for China orders

Consolidation combines compatible parcels before international shipping. It can reduce excess packaging and, in some cases, shipping cost, but it is not always suitable—fragile, oversized, regulated, or mixed-restriction products may need separate handling.

01

What consolidation means

When multiple parcels arrive at the China receiving point, compatible items can be repacked into fewer boxes after the customer approves the combination. The goal is to reduce unnecessary packaging while keeping the goods safe and compliant.

02

What it can help with

  • Removing excess outer packaging from multiple small parcels
  • Reducing the number of international boxes
  • Avoiding unnecessary empty space in a shipment
  • Giving a clearer final weight and dimension before dispatch
03

When consolidation is not a good idea

  • Fragile items that need their original protective packaging
  • Products with different shipping restrictions, such as batteries with liquids
  • Oversized or heavy goods that would create an unsafe combined parcel
  • Items where original packaging is important for warranty, return, or resale
04

How Orivoya decides

The final decision follows actual weight, volumetric weight, dimensions, product restrictions, destination rules, and carrier requirements. We do not combine parcels merely to force a lower estimated cost if it creates damage, customs, or compliance risk.

05

What you should tell us

  • Whether you need original packaging preserved
  • Whether multiple orders are part of one request
  • Any fragility or special handling notes
  • Whether items must remain separate for returns or customs
FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Does consolidation always lower shipping cost?

Not always. Removing excess packaging can help in some cases, but combined parcels may still face minimum charges, volumetric weight, or route limitations. The final price depends on the measured shipment.

Will my packages be opened?

Basic arrival handling may involve checking the outer packaging. Sealed product packaging is not opened without approval, and any repacking is discussed with you where it affects the shipment.

Can I keep the original boxes?

Yes, when that matters to you. Tell us before dispatch so original packaging can be preserved rather than removed during consolidation.

What if two items have different restrictions?

Items with different dangerous-goods or regulatory requirements may need separate parcels. The available route and carrier rules decide whether a combined shipment is possible.
